PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTATION
- Domestic
Procedures for the transportation of Li/MnO2 cells
and batteries are specified by the Department of Transportation
in the Code of Federal Regulations, CFR49 "Transportation." These
procedures are based on the weight of lithium contained in the
cell and battery
Complete details on domestic and transportation regulations
for Duracell Li/MnO2 cells are provided in the downloadable
version of this document.
- International
Procedures for international air transportation of DURACELL Li/MnO2
cells and batteries outside of the United States are specified
by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Montreal,
Quebec, in the publication "Technical Instructions for the Safe
Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air." The ICAO procedures for
air shipment of DURACELL Li/MnO2 cells and batteries
are similar, but not necessarily identical, to those specified
by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
