Techniques for Charge Control

Timed charge: Charge is terminated after battery is charged for a predetermined length of time.
Voltage drop:Charge is terminated when the voltage in the battery begins to decrease by a specified amount.
Voltage plateau:Charge is terminated when the voltage peaks and the slope of the charge curve is zero.
Temperature cutoff:Charge is terminated when the battery reaches a temperature that indicates the beginning of overcharge.
Delta temperature cutoff:Charge is terminated when the temperature rise reaches predetermined value.
Rate of temperature increase
(dT/dt):
Charge is terminated when the rate of temperature increase reaches a predetermined rate.
