Q. Background. What is the Duracell Toy Survey?
A. Established in the US since 1989 where it
is recognised as providing a key guide to the best selling toys
for the following Christmas. The survey in Europe since 2000,
covers 9 major European countries - Belgium, France, Germany,
Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden,
and UK .
Q. Who are the judges?
A. The toughest panel we could find - the children!
This is the only pan-European survey of its kind to test the latest
toys using the actual audience, children.
Q. Is this strictly limited to battery operated
toys?
A. No, the survey provides an impartial and
invaluable insight including both battery and non-battery operated
toys.
Q. Is there a criteria for toys to enter?
A. Yes, toys must be aimed at the 5-10 age group,
be available at retail level in all of the countries in which
the toy is being surveyed on and be available for testing by June
2007. If for unforseeable reasons a toy is not available in a
test market, it will be removed from the results ranking, effectively
"bumping up" the list.
The Duracell European Toy Survey is open to both battery
and non-battery operated toys.
Q. Why Duracell?
A. "With so many offers at Christmas, it
can be very difficult for parents to know which toys are the best.
So, we run the Duracell Toy Survey to elp consumers know which
battery and non-battery toys will be the most popular this Christmas"
Jeannette Potts - Brand Manager, Duracell
Major Cells.
Q. What manufacturers are involved?
A. Leading European Toy
manufacturers.
