Consumers are strongly cautioned to keep coin cell batteries away from and out of the reach of children. If swallowed, coin cell batteries such as the coin shaped lithium batteries (i.e. 1616, 2016, 2025, 2032 etc.) can become lodged in the esophagus where they can cause chemical burns in as little as two hours. Serious permanent injury or even death can result. Batteries should be kept in original packaging until ready for use and promptly disposed of when used and removed from the device. Consumers are further advised to monitor children's use of devices with such batteries and check the security of the battery compartment.
