Self-Discharge and Charge Retention
  • Self-discharge results from the reaction of residual hydrogen in the battery with the positive electrode.
  • Self-discharge rate is dependent on length of time and storage temperature - the higher the temperature, the greater the rate of self-discharge (see following figure).
  • Capacity loss due to self-discharge is fully reversible.
